Yep that rumour that never goes too far away is back, the Verizon iPhone. Virtually everyone has an opinion of whether Verizon should carry the iPhone, and most have a view on AT&T and the iPhone. Well apparently on Wednesday the WSJ released an article saying Apple was about to begin mass production of an iPhone which would run on the Verizon network.
However, according to an article over on Fortune by Philip Elmer-DeWitt, that WSJ article did not actually say that Verizon would sell the new CDMA iPhone and thus made the article the same story the same reporters posted 6 months ago.
However, apparently that same story has changed overnight and now Thursday’s addition states the one thing that was missing from the original story, which is…”Apple Inc. is making a version of its iPhone that Verizon Wireless will sell early next year.”
So if said Thursday’s article is to be believed, the WSJ is saying that the Verizon iPhone WILL sell early next year, which let’s face it is what many would like to happen.
