There’s been a bit of rumour recently over the possibility of a new Palm Pre 2 smartphone sporting WebOS 2.0, and now some detail have emerged on both of those items and the word is the Palm Pre 2 will indeed be the first device to sip carrying what has now been named HP webOS 2.0.
According to an article over on Engadget by Darren Murph, the HP webOS 2.0 operating system apparently delivers “true multitasking,” along with HP Synergy which links the users social networking and email accounts, and Stacks which is for app organisation, and Exhibition which allows users to run applications that have been designed for the Touchstone Charging Dock.
Apparently there’s also Flash Player 10.1 beta along with Skype Mobile which will only be on Verizon models, integrated QuickOffice full support for Bluetooth keyboard and SPP peripherals, and a new Favourites taggin option.
Onto the Palm Pre 2 smartphone and as usual not much has actually been revealed but apparently we should expect a 3.1 inch HVGA multitouch touch screen, a 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, geo-tagging and such, slide out QWERTY keyboard, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 802.11b/g WiFi, ambient light, proximity sensor, and a “sleeker, streamlined design,” 16GB storage and a 3.5mm jack.
Word has it that France SFR customers will be the first to see the Palm Pre 2 this Friday, followed by the US on Verizon Wireless and an unnamed Canadian carrier “in the coming months.”
