Yesterday probably got HTC desire owners with Telus in Canada all excited as apparently the Telus website announced that the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Telus HTC Desire was available to download from the HTC website or via their device.

However, disappointment quickly returned as Ian Hardy of Mobile Syrup updated his post that it now appear that there is some delay with the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Telus HTC Desire

Unfortunately the Telus website has updated the status of the Froyo update and has now placed it as the “HTC Desire upgrade to Android 2.2 coming in October.”

Thus it looks like our Canadian HTC Desire buddies still have at least a couple of days to wait, but as the end of October is fast approaching, Telus will need to get their finger out to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update available before the end of the month.
