For owners of the Android HTC Legend, the wait for their operating system to be updated has been a rather long one. However, apparently HTC has now delivers some confirmation as to when the HTC Legend will see the Android 2.2 Froyo update arrive.

According to an article over on Eurodroid, HTC has now released a statement via their Facebook page which says that the HTC Legend Android 2.2 update had been “progressing quite well, and in the coming weeks those with unbranded Legends should be receiving the update.”

HTC also pushed an apology in the statement for not responding to questions about the HTC Legend update; however they did say that they “have been listening.”

However, in the same statement although HTC says “unbranded Legends” will se the Android 2.2 Froyo update in the “coming weeks,” when it comes to the carrier branded HTC Legend there will be a “slightly longer wait,” and this is due to having to put the update through the approval process with carriers.

So there you have it, if you own an unbranded HTC Legend you’re looking at “coming weeks” but if you have a carrier branded HTC Legend it’s going to take longer and carrier acceptance can vary so no real word on when you are likely to receive the update.
