The word is that Samsung has teamed with Polycom to bring Unified Communications technology to the Samsung Galaxy Tab in what appears to be an attempt to pitch the device to business users.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Dusan Belic, according to the deal, Polycom is to develop “standards-based” video apps which will be embedded and distributed on the Android Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Polycom’s Unified Communications core infrastructure is said to be an “ideal placement in service provider networks” which allow cloud based Unified Communications delivery to enterprises and consumers.
Details are somewhat scarce but apparently the upcoming app will bring high resolution, low latency video experiences along with network resiliency and also combine chat and directory capability that will enable Samsung Galaxy tab users to connect.
