Twitter iOS App Gets Updated
Twitter has now released an update to their iOS application and the new release brings push notifications for direct messages and @mentions and numerous other fixes to the app so it can play better on your iPhone.
According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Andrew Munchbach the Twitter Blog states that “whenever an account that you follow mentions you, you’ll immediately receive a notification. You’ll know who is talking to or about you on Twitter, and you’ll be able to continue the conversation in real-time”
The official announcement goes on to say… “Notifications for @mentions will initially be available on SMS and on the latest version of Twitter for iPhone, which you can download today from the App Store.”
Changes to the Twitter app for iPhone are improved display of shortened URLs, additional retina graphics, now correctly loads reserved Twitter.com paths, and enables geo-tagging in account with one tap. Apple iPad app changes include, UI improvements, inline media, and manage saved searches.
