Well it seems to be all about Apple and iOS 4.2 today as apparently Apple is releasing updates to their 3 iWork applications for their iPad to support iOS 4.2 naturally and brings the iWork version to 1.3.
According to an article over on Macworld by Jason Snell, iWork apps Numbers, Pages and Keynote will gain the iOS 4.2 update and will then support the multitasking features meaning when a suer moves away from the app it will save their place and restore to that place on switching back.
Furthermore, iWork apps will then support AirPrint including duplex printing, setting the amount of copies and page or slide-rage selection whilst there will be a simplified tools menu with printung taking the top level.
There will also be an improvement to the reliability of PDF files sent from all 3 iWork apps and sent to Windows PC users which apparently now fixes a previous PDF font incompatibility.
The iWork Keynote app will have the addition of presenter-display support meaning when the iPad is connected to an external display for presentations the Keynote app will show current slide, next slide, or presenter notes on the iPad display and will import presenter notes when importing presentations.
The iWork Pages app will now feature auto-pagination of tables which cross a page break along with numerous minor improvements to utilities such as selection of italic, bold, and font size and bug fixes for pages “09 and Microsoft word.
The iWork Numbers app gains the ability to preview how a sheet will print across several pages, whilst PDF export can take advantage of pagination settings on print preview mode, and will also support formula entry using a keyboard.
So basically plenty there if you have an Apple iPad and use these three iWorks applications.
