If you are in the market for an Android smartphone this festive season, and looking for a handset on pay as you go rather than contract here in the UK, it may pay for you to visit O2 if you are a fan of Sony Ericsson devices.

Apparently according to an article over on Eurodroid, if you are thinking about picking up the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 smartphone, O2 UK is slashing the asking price for the Android smartphone in time for Christmas.

So if you would like to own the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 on O2 UK Pay As You Go option O2 has now reduced the asking price for the device by £30 bringing the purchase price down to £100 although you will of course require a PAYG SIM package.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 offers a 3 inch capacitive touch screen, 3 megapixel camera, Android 2.1 operating system, Bluetooth, WiFi, FM radio with RDS, GPS, 128MB storage, microSD expansion up to 32GB and a 3.5mm jack.
