Well that certainly didn’t take long, the latest Android smartphone from the Google guys, the Google Nexus S handset only went on sale yesterday but the device has already been taken apart to reveal its internals in a teardown.
According to an article over on Engadget by Ross Miller, the iFixit chaps have done their usual business and torn down the Google Nexus S for all those that enjoy seeing what’s inside the newest smartphone to hit the market.
All the usual stuff is laid out for you to view although they say what the Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset houses inside isn’t that surprising and is basically standard fair similar to what’s been seen already in the Samsung Galaxy S device.
The teardown is over two pages and the most notable difference between the Galaxy S and the Nexus S is the latest Android device from the Google guys includes a Super AMOLED Contour Display and NFC support.
As for scoring in the teardown for ease of repair, they say the Google Nexus S scores a 7 out of 10 with 10 being the easiest although if the front glass panel gets shattered you’ll need to replace the Super AMOLED as well as both are fused together.
