If you are in the market to pick up the latest smartphone from the Google guys, namely the Android packing Samsung made Google Nexus S and want the device at a better price this festive season then you may want to take a gander at Carphone Warehouse.
Why? Because apparently according to an article over on PCR-online by Matt Bettinson, the Carphone Warehouse has dropped the asking price on the Google Nexus S handset on both contract and SIM free versions.
The Android 2.3 Gingerbread toting Google Nexus S commanded an original SIM free price of £549.99 whereas rival devices such as the HTC Desire HD SIM free was £415 while the Nokia N8 was £455, so it does seem that £549.99 for the Nexus S was a bit excessive.
Thus it would appear that carphone warehouse agrees and has thus dropped the price of the SIM free Google Nexus S down to £429.99 although unfortunately Carphone Warehouse is currently out of stock of the smartphone and will apparently commit to only delivery “before the end of December,” so if you want the Android handset you won’t get it in time for Christmas.
This Carphone Warehouse Nexus S price drop has also had a small effect on the contract version and now the Google Nexus S will be a free device on both Vodafone and O2 when signing your life away for a two year term on a £30 per month deal which is a drop of £5.
So if you aren’t in that much of a hurry to own the Google Nexus S and you don’t need it for that all important Christmas present it looks like the Carphone Warehouse may be the cheapest way to go.
