Many Britons are now using mobile phones for buying Christmas gifts and it seems that more and more customers tend to use mobile devices this time of year, thanks to exclusive research by Glamoo they reveal that almost 50% of Smartphone users plan to send Christmas gifts directly from their mobiles.
Busy Briton’s are turning to their mobile phones to purchase and send gifts this Christmas, according to research from smart buying club Glamoo. With 2010 a breakthrough year for mobile shopping, convenience and exclusive deals have encouraged millions of Cyber Santa’s to shop on the go.
The research below shows Key findings that includes:
- 59 per cent of Smartphone owners choose to shop on their mobile for convenience
- 44% of smartphone users would be purchasing and sending gifts directly from their mobile phone this Xmas.
- 42 per cent said they squeeze every second out of their day by shopping while travelling as a passenger in a car.
- 22% of smartphone users are already shopping on their mobile at least once at week
- 33 per cent of people surveyed by Glamoo said they would use time on their daily commute to shop for goods and services on their mobile
Glamoo’s survey, which sampled 4,000 people across the country, found that almost half of Smartphone users (44 per cent) said they would be purchasing and sending gifts directly from their mobile phones this Christmas. In the busy weeks leading up to the big day, people are finding it easy to purchase gifts through mobile internet browsers and applications on their phone. The survey also revealed that 59 per cent of Smartphone owners choose to shop on their mobile for convenience.

With more and more people opting for smartphones as their choice of mobile device, Glamoo’s research found that more than one in five smartphone users are already shopping on their mobile at least once at week.
The research also revealed the most popular time for Britons to shop on their mobile. 33 per cent of people surveyed by Glamoo said they would use time on their daily commute to shop for goods and services on their mobile, meanwhile 42 per cent said they squeeze every second out of their day by shopping while travelling as a passenger in a car.
