Cobra iRadar App for iPhone Getting Update in Spring
For those iOS device users who use the Cobra iRadar app on their iPhone, Cobra has now announced that the application will be getting an update in the spring which will deliver location based crowd sourcing to make the application more effective.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Marin Perez, and by way of Cobra, the addition of crowdsourcing to the iRadar app for iPhone will basically turn the single radar detector into a network of radar detectors that delivers real time info via other users.
Senior vice president of marketing and sales for Cobra Electronics, Sally Washlow,said in a statement… “The upcoming release brings a social media-like user community aspect to the iRadar by combining a powerful database of known driving hazards with the reach and real-time intelligence of our community of iRadar users.”
The new Cobra iRadar feature will be released as an application update sometime in the spring of 2011. Apparently the radar detection system commands a hefty price tag of $169 but companion application are free, and furthermore the app will also be coming to the Android platform in March.
