Yet another Android smartphone was unveiled by Motorola at CES 2011, this time it’s the Motorola ATRIX 4G which is destined to play nice on AT&T’s 4G network at some stage this year and according to the Motorola announcement is “the only smartphone that allows you to carry the power of mobile computing inside your pocket.”
So what does the Motorola ATRIX 4G offer? Well according to Phone Arena there’s a 4 inch qHD display, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, mobile hotpsot, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash and 720p video capture, front facing camera, HTML and Flash support, built-in social networking for FaceBook, MySpace and support for Twitter, A-GPS, 16GB storage, microSD expansion up to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, DNLA and 3.5mm jack and runs Android 2.2 Froyo.
According to the chief marketing officer, Motorola Mobility, Inc, Bill Ogle, “Motorola ATRIX 4G ushers in a new era of mobile computing. ATRIX comes loaded with the Motorola webtop application, and when used with one of our exclusive docks, enables consumers to extend the capabilities of their smartphones. “
While the chief marketing officer, AT&T mobility and consumer markets, David Christopher, said, “With ATRIX 4G, we are rethinking what a smartphone can be, and literally changing the game with a new device category that combines the power of a laptop with the latest smartphone features and 4G speeds.”
The Motorola ATRIX is expected to become exclusively available on AT&T sometime in Q1 although no word on what the smartphone will set you back.
