Verizon iPhone Announcement Coming 11th Jan
Looks like the day many have eagerly been waiting for is just a few days away, the official announcement that the CDMA iPhone is coming to the Verizon network. Apparently Tuesday will be the big day Verizon announced the coming of the much talked about Verizon iPhone.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Kelley Hodgkins, the Wall Street Journal has stated that Verizon Wireless has invited reporters to an event in New York City on the 11th of January where apparently the Big Red will finally announce the carrier will carry the iPhone.
According to the WSJ, the Verizon iPhone will be a CDMA iPhone and not the iPhone 5 or any other variant of the device, however as yet just when the Verizon iPhone will become available is still being kept under tight wraps.
Apparently Apple has decided to deliver the Verizon iPhone to combat increasing pressure from rival, the Google Android platform, and will of course signify the end of AT&T’s exclusive stranglehold over the iPhone.
The interesting thing to see when the Verizon iPhone finally lands is if it will have a disastrous effect on AT&T, if Verizon’s 3G network will cope with the extra load a Verizon iPhone is expected to bring and if AT&T iPhone customers will actually leave the carrier and flock to Verizon.
