As you are probably aware the biggest selling smartphone out of the Samsung camp is their Samsung Galaxy S handset,†‬and Samsung is apparently going to craw about that little fact for a while and have also announced something else.
According to an article over on Android Central,†‬and by way of Korea’s Samsung site Samsung Tomorrow,†‬Sammy has announced they have sold in excess of†‬10†‬million Samsung Galaxy S smartphones,†‬something we all expected anyway,†‬and makes Sammy the most successful Android handset maker so far.
Samsung doesn’t expect smartphone sales to slow either as they have a target goal of†‬60†‬million smartphones next year.†‬More interesting than Sammy’s Samsung Galaxy S sales figures though is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S.
According to the article apparently Samsung is saying the Galaxy S successor will come packing Android†‬2.3†‬Gingerbread along with being a dual-core handset and will announce the new smartphone during Mobile World Congress†‬2011in February.
This news runs along the lines of a rumour posted by Engadget yesterday which touts a Samsung flagship handset porting Android Gingerbread coming early†‬2011.
