Well as the whole world now knows, the long awaited Verizon iPhone is finally coming to play nice on the Big Red network andas reported will become available as of the 10th of next month and command a price tag of some 200 bucks as reported (here).
No doubt the Verizon iPhone 4 CDMA version will be a huge success although the Verizon iPhone doesn’t actually play nice on Verizon’s 4G LTE network and is thus confined to their 3G waves which is a tad disappointing, but does mean at some stage the Big Red will require a 4G LTE enabled CDMA iPhone, so perhaps later in the year when Apple pushes out the iPhone 5.
However the CDMA iPhone isn’t the only new smartphone coming to Verizon as they still have their Android lineup which will offer competition to the Verizon iPhone. One such new Android handset due to hit Verizon is of course the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G, a 1GHz dual-core Android 2.2 Froyo handset that can play nice on Verizon’s 4G LTE network according to Nexus404.
Although the iconic iPhone is finally coming to Verizon can the iOS device actually compete against new smartphones that are enabled to use the much faster 4G networks?
Although the Verizon iPhone will cost you $200 the price of the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G hasn’t been revealed yet, but I guess it depends on whether you wish to be one of the iPhone faithful and grab the Verizon iPhone on 3G or be one of the Android faithful and grab the Droid Bionic 4G on LTE.
So the big question here is will you purchase the new Verizon iPhone or opt to wait for the arrival of the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G?
What we do have for your viewing pleasure though is a video of the Verizon iPhone hands-on courtesy of CNETTV which you can check out by skiping on down and hitting the play button…enjoy.
