Are you a fast texter? Can you rattle out more words than most on your iPhone, Android device or other smartphone? Do you think you could be a contender in taking the world record for speed texting? If so then what you need to do is consider going in for the next LG Mobile World Cup, and attempt to shatter the Guinness World Record, although you’re a little late for this year and would have to use an LG device.
LG Mobile Phones has now announced the LG Mobile World Cup 2011 which is to be held on the 26th of January at the Gotham Hall in New York City where participants from sixteen countries will compete to break the Guinness World Record for speed texting and accuracy to win a top prize of $100,000 US.
Participating teams will also compete to gain the title of the “World’s Fastest Texters” for texting on a QWERTY mobile phone.
Representing the US will be US Numeric keyboard finalist Angel Conion, and LG US national Texting Champion Brianna Hendrickson, who grabbed the title in 2010 by using the LG Ally.
Team USA will go up against the best other counties can offer from Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Indonesia, Honduras, Guatemala, Morocco, Korea, Panama, Portugal, Nicaragua, Thailand and South Korea.
During the contest, participants will attempt to win by texting phrases in their own language exactly as the phrase is shown on nearby LG plasma screens and are allowed no abbreviations or mistakes. QWERTY players will be using the LG Etna Plus handset while numeric players will use the LG BL20 handset.
Personally I wouldn’t stand a chance; however if they ever hold a world championship for the slowest texter in the world I may have a fighting chance.
