RIM is ramping up its phone line by offering the upcoming BlackBerry Dakota / Magnum handset, the question is “Can this phone do well to give RIM and fighting chance with other handsets about to release?”
BGR (Boy Genius Reports) got their hands on the new BlackBerry Dakota touchscreen handset and have revealed a few specs for us all to look at, it has a feature that Apple is looking into implementing onto their upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 2 and that is NFC the mobile payment system.
The BlackBerry Dakota main specs include a 2.8-inch VGA 640 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, QWERTY keypad, can be used as a 3G hotspot, BlackBerry OS 6.1, Wi-Fi b, g, n on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, 5-megapixel camera with image stabilization, flash and HD video recording, it also has Bluetooth, 768 MB RAM and 4 GB of built-in storage memory, plus Magnetometer, Accelerometer and a Proximity Sensor. We thought we would find out a little more info about this new handset and came across Berry Review who has some great information we would like to share with you, they report via Fudzilla that AT&T might hold back on the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and may possibly wait for the Dakota, could it be true that AT&T might pull the BlackBerry Bold line in favour of the Dakota?
The BlackBerry Dakota smartphone is apparently or should we say “Expected” to make an appearance at the MWC in February, if this handset does show up at MWC we can see it releasing somewhere around March or maybe April.
