Earlier today I posted a rumour that the Facebook phone was once again amongst the living as rumours have hit the net waves that HTC was producing not one but two Facebook phones, you can check out that article by hitting up (here).

However according to an article over on Engadget by Darren Murph, and by way of Reuters, it appears that those rumours are unfounded as apparently the Facebook guys have come out an flatly denied the HTC Facebook branded handsets rumours.

Apparently the head of business development at Facebook, Dan Rose has said…“This is really just another example of a manufacturer who has taken our public APIs (application programming interfaces) and integrated them into their device in an interesting way. The rumours around there being something more to this HTC device are overblown.”

When pressed on whether the devices would carry the Facebook brand, Rose answered…“No. There’s no such thing as Harvard law. And there’s no such thing as a Facebook phone.”

So there you have it, now maybe just maybe the rumours of a Facebook phone will die away, but then if there is a Facebook movie then why not a smartphone, perhaps someday in the future. Any of our readers interested in a Facebook phone or is it all just hype and not something most would be interested in anyway?
