iOS 4.3 Personal Hotspot Could See Release 13th Feb
On the 10th of this month, Apple is expected to release iOS 4.2.6 for the Verizon iPhone, and the word is that an iOS 4.3 update could well follow shortly after that, which would deliver the personal hotspot feature to iPhone users on AT&T.
According to an article over on Apple Insider, that David Pogue of the New York Times, noted in his review of the Verizon iPhone that the personal hotspot feature would be released to existing AT&T iPhone customers as of the 13th of February: however apparently that date has now been removed.
Apparently reader Loren says that the review originally said…“the single new feature in Verizon’s iPhone is Personal Hotspot, where the iPhone becomes a Wi-Fi base station. Up to five laptops, iPod Touches or other gadgets can get online, using the phone as a glorified Internet antenna.”
However apparently said review now states that AT&T says their iPhone will get it “soon.”
Furthermore Daring Fireball‘s John Gruber suggests that iOS 4.3 may release within a couple of weeks, basing his suggestion on Verizon sponsoring a 2-week period of The Daily app. Gruber also says…“the hotspot feature works so well that I can’t really see paying for a 3G iPad again.”
So there you have it, possibly we’ll see iOS 4.3 come out on the 13th of this month, but it would appear that it hasn’t yet been clarified or confirmed.

Will it still not be available on iPhone 3G?
