Yes folks for all that have been patiently waiting for the Verizon iPhone, potential owners can as from today choose whether to go with AT&T or Verizon for their iPhone as Apple has relaunched the App Store to show both devices.
According to an article over on Apple Insider, Apple made the change at midnight, removed their “be back soon” notice and have replaced it with a live storefront offering the AT&T iPhone and the Verizon iPhone with links to both carrier’s service maps and plans.
As for shipping, the Verizon iPhone states the shipping availability date is the 18th of February while the AT&T iPhone is still shipping in 24 hours.
Apparently the guys went through the process of ordering the CDMA iPhone and the shipping receipt said that the device would ship “by February 18th” with a delivery “within 5 business days after shipping,” so it’s likely that if you order now you’ll see your Verizon iPhone on or around the 25th.
Apparently at the moment you can’t reserve the Verizon iPhone for pick up at an Apple retail store. For those who purchase the Verizon iPhone and are an existing AT&T customer and enter their account info will have their number switched to Verizon on receipt of their new handset and connect to iTunes to setup.
Anyone purchasing the Verizon iPhone in store will be switched over to the Verizon network in store, and apparently the switch over can take up to 3 hours.
So, any of our readers grabbing the Verizon iPhone and jumping the AT&T ship, if so feel free to let us know by posting us a comment.
