For the iOS faithful out there that are expecting the next generation Apple iPad to hopefully come out to play sometime in April as popular rumour has suggested, you just might be in for a disappointment as the word is the Apple iPad 2 may be delayed.
According to an article over on Apple Insider, and by way of Bloomberg, the new Apple iPad 2 could see a delay of a couple of months bringing the release to sometime in June and may coincide with the launch of the iPhone 5.
The delay news is based on a report by Yuanta Securities analysts Vincent and Alison Chen, who report that the delay of the Apple iPad 2 is due to “production bottlenecks,” at Hon Hai Precision Industry.
The Chen report says… “Our checks suggest new issues are being encountered with the new production and it is taking time to resolve them. As a number of Android 3.0 tablets are being launched in April and May, the delay in iPad 2 shipments may give the Android camp a brief window of opportunity.’’
Apparently the analysts believe that changes to design made before the Chinese Lunar New Year, earlier this month has caused the delay with producing the new Apple tablet, which could now lower expected shipments of the device from forecasts of 30.6 million down to 23 million units this year.
So, there you have it, the Apple iPad 2 may well be delayed until June if the analysts report turns out to be spot on, which is a bit of a bummer for those who have been waiting patiently to get their mitts on the device, how annoying is that?
