The Daily App For Apple iPad 2 UK Inbound This Summer
As you are probably aware, over in the US of A, a while ago Rupert Murdock launched The Daily app for the Apple iPad, and has thus far remained just for the US; however it looks like the UK and other European countries will be getting the app later in the year.
According to an article over on Itproportal, apparently The Daily will be coming to the UK and Western European Apple iPad 2 “before then end of June.”
The chief digital officer of News Corps, Jonathan Miller, at the Abu Dhabi media summit said that charging for content would begin next week and described it as “its moment of truth,” and confirmed that the service had pulled in hundreds of thousands of customers.
Price wise Miller confirmed that the app will cost approximately $0.99 a week or $39.99 annually; however there has been no word on what the subscription will cost in the UK or other European countries.
Currently the News Corps has made The Daily exclusive to the iOS platform and has thus far not said whether they will make the service available to the Android, WebOS or Windows Phone 7 platforms.
