If you are pondering on the news that AT&T acquiring T-Mobile USA will result in T-Mobile USA gaining the iPhone for their customers, for the moment you’d be quite wrong in your assumption, but that doesn’t mean T-Mobile wont gain the iOS smartphone later.
According to an article over on 9to5 Mac, T-mobile USA has released some details after the AT&T acquisition deal broke, details that will no doubt be of use to current T-Mobile USA customers.
Apparently T-Mobile is to remain an independent company and will continue to bill customers the same way customers are being billed today, and one other little point, T-Mobile customers will not get the iPhone.
Here’s that info in T-Mobile USA’s words… “T-Mobile USA remains an independent company. The acquisition is expected to be completed in approximately 12 months. We do not offer the iPhone. We offer cutting edge devices like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G and coming soon our new Sidekick 4G.”
Having said that, once the acquisition of T-Mobile USA is finalised there’s nothing really stopping AT&T from giving T-Mobile the iPhone to sell is there, and one could say the iPhone is a cutting edge device.
So perhaps not maybe the iPhone 5 but next year’s iPhone 6 could possibly become part of T-mobile’s offering. After all once T-Mobile becomes a subsidiary of AT&T surely they will be able to offer customers that same devices as AT&T, and as they say, time changes everything…speculation I know, but it could happen…agree or disagree?
