Let’s face it every rival in the tablet arena wants to take down the dominance of the Apple iPad 2, mostly Android, but there seems to be a new entrant into the challenging the Apple iPad 2 game, this time from Amazon and their Kindle tablet.
According to an article over on Ubergizmo, by way of Gadget Help Line, Digitimes is claiming that “high-level” sources say that the Amazon kindle tablet will release sometime in the second half of this year, and apparently plans to push the tablet using its “advantage in software and content resources to challenge iPad2.”
Apparently the Amazon Kindle tablet is said to sport an LCD display along with a separate E-Ink touch panel and will more than likely run on the Android platform, though no word on whether the device will run Google’s tablet centric operating system Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
However of course all this is just rumour, as Amazon hasn’t come right out and confirmed anything, but judging by Amazon having an Android app, and Android app store it’s probably safe to speculate the tablet will run Android.
Do you think Amazon could challenge the Apple iPad 2 with an Android Kindle tablet?
