The rugged Casio G’zOne Commando of North America will apparently receive a name change when the Android smartphone hits Japan, and the device will become the Casio G’Zone IS11CA, not sure why the name had to be change but there you go.
According to an article over on Akihabaranews, the Casio G’zOne IS11CA will be going with Japan’s KDDI and runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system
The Casio G’zONe ISS11CA is similar to the US version of the Android device and offers an IPS 3.6-inch touch screen, MSM8655 chipset, 8 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and Japanese NFC.
The Casio G’zOne IS11CA will also a sport IPX 5/8 dustproof and shockproof housing to add a little rugged flavour into the mix. No word on what the smartphone will become available in Japan or how much the device will cost.
