Although the first Android Honeycomb, the Motorola Xoom was again the first to get updated to Android 3.1, other Android Honeycomb tablets aren’t going to be far behind as the word is Android 3.1 is coming to both Acer and Asus tablets.
According to the guys over at This Is My Next, Acer and Asus have now confirmed that their Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tegra 2 tablets will gain the Android 3.1 update sometime early June.
Thus the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Acer Iconia Tab A500 will receive Android 3.1 Honeycomb as an over the air update, which should make owners quite happy.
The Android 3.1 OS update apparently delivers better ability to stretch widgets, has support for USB peripherals and includes improved performance. When it comes to the LG G-Slate though both T-Mobile and LG will not commit to a firm date for upgrading the Honeycomb tablet to Android 3.1 and only state that it is “coming soon.”
So there you go, Asus and Acer Honeycomb tablet owners can look forward to receiving that update if all goes according to plan and nothing gets delayed.
