When the Netflix app for Android was released only a handful of Android handset could run the app but shortly after the hacking community came up with a workaround enabling Netfix to be used on other handsets both rooted and non-rooted, but until now the HTC Thunderbolt still couldn’t run the Netflix app, but now it can as long as the smartphone is rooted running a Gingerbread ROM.
According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Android Police, anyone whishing to have a go should head over to XDA-developers to get all the necessary info so they can have Netflix on their Gingerbread rooted HTC Thunderbolt.
Apparently it has been confirmed that it works over 3g and WiFi but there’s no word as yet as to whether it will work with your 4G LTE connection.
Word is all you need to do to get Netfix on your HTC Thunderbolt is to download the “minimal Patch” although there is apparently a complete patch that will push things further if the “minimal patch fails. So of any of our Thunderbolt owners give this a bash feel free to let us know how you get on.
