Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Costs a Bundle in Europe
The latest of Sammy’s Galaxy range Android tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is expected to become available sometime in the summer, but apparently there are some prices for the Android 3.0 Honeycomb slate being revealed along with the ability to pre-order, but it would appear that in Europe the tablet will carry a hefty price.
According to the guys over on Slash Gear by way of Netbooknewsde, Potential customers for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 in Germany can now pre-order the device from Amazon Germany for a whopping 606.50 Euros.
That €606.50 works out at roughly $853, which is considerably higher than what Samsung will be asking for the Android tablet over in the states as the price is expected to be $469.
Spec wise there’s still no real detail other than it will be black with 16GB have an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3 megapixel camera and a 1280 x 800 display.
The guys say the device at that price could mean it is a 3G model but that is somewhat unlikely at this stage as Sammy hasn’t confirmed the availability of a 3G Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 yet. So given that big price will any of our European readers be picking up the 8.9 Android slate?
