Owners of the Motorola Droid X have been waiting some time for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, and it would appear that said update is now ready to hit Droid X devices, and all the Big Red needs to do is make it official.
According to an article over on Droid-life Verizon has now posted the Droid X Gingerbread changelog to their support page and the update will apparently include everything seen in leaks such as ActiveSync fixes and a new MotoBlur and will weight in at 112MB.
The guys do point out that Verizon hasn’t announced any official roll out date for Android 2.3 Gingerbread to the Motorola Droid X, but when such info hits the Big Red support page they say it’s a good sign of being within a week.
The guys also say they have heard that if you have a rooted Droid X and wish to stay rooted then probably the best option for now is to keep away from the Gingerbread update. Otherwise Droid X owners can look forward to grabbing the Android update fairly soon.
