Originally the word was that the highly popular Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet would move from Android 3.0 Honeycomb up to Android 3.1sometime in June; however it would appear that Asus has moved a bit faster than expected and that the Android 3.1 Honeycomb update will hit the Asus Eee Pad Transformer earlier than expected.

According to an article over on Slash Gear by way of This Is My Next, sources say that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer will gain Android 3.1as an over the air update early next week.

Apparently the Android 3.1 OTA update will not only deliver the new features such as overall stability improvement, a new multitask switcher and advanced widgets, but will also come with a docking station firmware update.

The word is the docking station firmware update will deliver mouse tracking and USB compatibility along with improved typing speeds, and apparently owner of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer could see the Android 3.1 update hit as early as Monday, so keep your eyes open.
