If you have been following the legal fight between Apple and Samsung you’ll know that not too long ago federal judge Lucy Koh ordered Samsung to hand over samples of their smartphones and tablets to Apple lawyers, and now it appears that Samsung wants the same rights as Apple.
According to an article over on Xinhuanet, in retaliation to having to hand over samples of their Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, and smartphones the Samsung Galaxy S2, Infuse 4G and Infuse 4G LTE, Sammy has asked the judge to grant access to Apple’s next generation iPhone and Apple iPad.
Which means if the judge grants Samsung’s motion, which was filed in a California federal court, then Samsung will have access to the iPhone 5, or iPhone 4S whatever it is decided to be called and possibly the Apple iPad 3.
Apparently Samsung stated… “It would put Samsung at a significant disadvantage in this litigation if the Court allowed Apple access to Samsung’s future products … but prevented Samsung from gaining access to Apple’s future products so that it could prepare its defence.”
Apparently thus far Apple has not commented on whether they will hand Samsung the requested samples, but if the judge orders them to do so I can’t see how they can refuse can you?
