G2 Replacement Handsets Come With Android Gingerbread
Well now here’s a bit of a turn up for the books, apparently the word is T-Mobile customers who have their T-Mobile G2 smartphone replaced because of warranty conditions are finding that the replacement handset comes sporting Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
According to the guys over at Tmonews, at least several users have reported getting their replacement T-Mobile G2 back and with Android Gingerbread already installed on the device, so it could be that T-Mobile is gearing up to release the Gingerbread update sooner than expected.
However it does seem somewhat ironic that T-Mobile is replacing the G2 under warranty with Gingerbread handset as recently it came to light that the T-Mobile G2 is headed for the mobile graveyard as we reported (here)
Still perhaps that old faithful coming soon message usually associated with OS update roll outs just might actually mean coming soon this time round so G2 owners should keep their eyes open.
