Galaxy Tab 10.1 Is American Airlines First Class Entertainment Package
Well now it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has taken to the skies as the Samsung Android tablet is apparently now being offered for in-flight entertainment purposes for people flying first class with American Airlines during certain flights.
According to the guys over at the Boy Genius Report and by way of Mashable, the airline has 6,000 Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablets to play around with and will also offer passengers access to WiFi whilst on the flight.
Those first class passengers will be offered the use of the Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablets on flights between San Francisco and New York, LA and New York, LA and Miami, and Boston and LA that are operated by 757 craft and some European and South American flights using American Airline 767-300 craft.
Apparently though it’s not just the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that is taking to the skies, as apparently the Apple iPad is to be used as part of in-flight entertainment on Qantas unit Jetstar flights, while the Apple iPad has also replaced paper flight manuals with Alaska Airlines.
A sweet thing to keep first class passenger entertained during flights, but why not extend the service to all passengers, even if they attach a small and reasonable charge, I’m sure the ordinary frequent flyer would like to take advantage of tablet use in the skies as well.
