Apple is right up at the top when it comes to tablet PCs and its iPad sales is doing very well, but can the new kid on the block in the form of the Android 3.2 Amazon Tablet PC steal a little of Apple’s limelight and profits.
Amazon has already been successful with its Kindle tablet, and for them to release a new 9-inch Android-powered tablet device before October could indeed start a little rivalry, this all seems possible and so much so the Wall Street Journal has claimed that there could be a clash between Apple and Amazon, and we say this could indeed happen.
The rivalry in going to be tense for both companies in the sales forecourt, the Kindle is selling very well so what is stopping the new Amazon Tablet PC doing the same, especially seeing it will run with Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. Android fans will just love this new device; well that’s the plan anyway.
We do not know nothing about the specs as of yet, these are being kept behind closed doors for the time being, Amazon please reveal the specs and stop being secretive like Apple. All we know is the new tablet touch screen device will have the mentioned OS and quad-core processors, and apparently no cameras.
Amazon has plenty of books, apps, music, and videos and of course its very own cloud storage, this is the strong hold that Amazon has.
Apple is the dominant ones when it comes to tablet popularity, will Amazon be the first to scare Apple a little? Other tablet PCs such as the Motorola Xoom and the BlackBerry PlayBook are not doing anything to change the world, is Amazon about to change this mindset?
According to Reuters the will be at least 1.5 million Amazon tablets built for Q3, they say that this would increase competition with Apple and that Amazon’s Tablet PC could help them sell more digital content.
Now if you look at the amazing digital book than physical book sales Amazon have achieved it stands to reason that its current customers will be very happy indeed to have one of their own Android tablets so that customers can transfer purchase that already have onto the new machine.
Please let us know what you think about the above news, if the Amazon tablet releases before October will you purchase one, obviously dependent on price.
