Apple retail stores have done very well indeed, so much so that $3.5 billion in revenues pulling in $828 million in profits during the second calendar quarter, which is there fiscal Q3, the new quarterly sales record hit an astonishing 20.3 million iPhone and 9.2 million iPad units. This will only but get higher when they launch the new iPhone 5.

Apple is prepping 30 new outlet stores for its new iPhone 5 launch, these new outlets will be erected before the third calendar quarter ends in September and this includes the company’s first in Hong Kong according to Apple Insider.

Apple has a very strong following and its customers are very loyal, Apple said that they were planning on opening 25 new stores in China by the end of the year, hoping to gain strong sales in the Asia Pacific market.

The iPhone 5 launch will get a lot of interest and Apple needs to be on the ball with this release, it is one of the most anticipated smartphones that has seen a lot of interest, so opening more stores makes sense.

Apple (AAPL) stocks have jumped dramatically, rising to more than $400 thanks to impressive iPhone and iPad sales, when you look at the numbers Apple is just going from strength-to-strength, they have doubled its net income to $7.31 billion, or $7.79 a share, from $3.25 billion, or $3.51, a year earlier.

Sales have gone up by 82 percent to $28.6 billion, that is a profit of $5.87 a share and revenue of $25 billion.

Bloomberg reports “Apple shares jumped as much as 7.5 percent to $405 in extended trading after the results were posted. The stock, up 17 percent this year, had closed at a record $376.85 yesterday in regular Nasdaq Stock Market trading.”

Ok so we know Apple is releasing the new iPhone / iPhone 4G / iPhone 4S, what ever the device will be called this year, but what is next! what will the next smartphone after the iPhone 5 be like, what features will it have, can it break new technologies? Personally how about fingerprint recognition, or wrap around solar panels for wireless charging, or to push the boat out a little further how about a mini projector on the iPhone 6?
