The mobile space seems to be becoming inundated with Android tablets since the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb slate, the Motorola Xoom hit the market, but the high price of the Motorola Xoom has kept the tablet out of most peoples hands, however if you are over here in the United Kingdom and considering purchasing the Motorola Xoom now might be the right time to do so.
According to the guys over at Unwired View, over in the good ole US of A, the Big Red has now chopped 100 bucks of the price of the WiFi only Motorola Xoom on contract, what has got to do with the UK I hear you ask, well it appears that the UK is following Verizon’s example, well Amazon to be precise.
The guys say that here in the United Kingdom, Amazon is now offering the Motorola Xoom WiFi only version at a lower price, originally the Android Honeycomb slate was offered for £499.99, but now Amazon has reduced that asking price down to £394.95 along with £1.99 shipping.
Which means you can save your self about a hundred quid on that original price if you decide to purchase the Motorola Xoom from Amazon as of right now, which has got to be a good deal in anyone’s books.
So to remind you what the Android tablet offers the purchaser, 10.1-inch multi-touch, HD wide-screen display, 1 GHz NVIDIA Dual Core Processor, Adobe Flash Player 10.2, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 720p video playback & video capture, 2 megapixel front facing camera, Google Talk, Google Maps 5.0, Bluetooth, Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, 32GB internal Memory and microSD expansion.
So if you are in the market for the Motorola Xoom WiFi only tablet now would seem like a good time to hit up Amazon UK and grab one. However if you would rather snag the 3G version of the Motorola Xoom, well unfortunately that will still kind of put a hefty dent in your bank account to the tune of £559.98, which is hard to swallow by any means.
So the question to all our Brit readers is does the new lower price for the Motorola Xoom WiFi only model from Amazon gain your attention enough to want to purchase the slate, or do you still feel that price is too steep and would rather opt for another Android based tablet?
