So the latest word on Sammy Galaxy devices other than the possibility of a white Samsung Galaxy S II that I just posted is that there is a new Samsung handset with the Federal Communications Commission, a device called the Samsung SGH-1777, and the speculation is that the SGH-1777 could well be the Samsung Galaxy 3D.
According to an article over on Wireless Goodness, they have been doing a touch of snooping at the FCC and have come across the Samsung SGH-1777, a device they say is similar to the Galaxy S II with WiFi, Bluetooth and 8 megapixel camera, but there are a couple of reasons they think the devices isn’t the Samsung Galaxy S II.
They say for one this SGH-1777 has a 1500mAh battery while the Galaxy S II packs a 1650mAh, and the other reason is because the SGH-1777 features a rather strange little button at the top left side of the device, a button that the Galaxy S II doesn’t feature.
The guys further state that the button is very tiny, and possibly a lock screen or mute switch as seen on the Apple iPad and iPhone 4; however they believe it isn’t as it’s not Samsung’s style, so go on to suggest that the tiny button could be for adjusting or enabling 3D functionality.
Leaving tem to believe that the Samsung SGH-1777 could possibly be the Samsung Galaxy 3D smartphone, as there is a similar switch found on the HTC EVO 3D, and as they say, as far as we know the only 3D enabled handset in the Samsung camp is the Galaxy 3D.
Pretty thin on the ground I know but their assumption does make some sense, so it is possibly that this Samsung SGH-1777 handset could well be the Samsung galaxy 3D making its first appearance at the FCC.
So what do we know of the Samsung Galaxy 3D? Well the word is the Android handset will sport a 4.3-inch touch screen, twin 8 megapixel camera, a 1.2 GHz Exynos dual core processor, and will probably release with Android 2.3 Gingerbread but be upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich if the device comes out after Google’s newest operating system release.
So there you have it, for now at least all this is just speculation over that one tiny little button, but who knows, the guys could be spot on and we are seeing the Samsung Galaxy 3D making its way trough the FCC.
