For the Android faithful over in the good old US of A whose preferred carrier is Verizon Wireless, and like their smartphone to another colour than black, the word hitting the net is you just might have a new colour option if you are contemplating picking up the HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphone.
According to an article over on Pocket Now, the word is that the Big Red will add a silvers version of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 alongside the original black model, albeit still retaining the original black facia like most coloured smartphones.
The guys do say that the two-tone effect does seem to work well on the Droid Incredible 2, until some two-tone handsets available, but it is expected that the silver HTC Droid Incredible 2 will keep the same specs and features of the black version.
Those specs are of course a 4.inch Super LCD capacitive Gorilla Glass touch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with dual LED flash and 720p video, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, 16GB internal memory, microSD expansion up to 32GB and a 3.5mm jack, and Android 2.2 Froyo operating system although I’m not too sure if the Droid Incredible 2 has been updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread yet but it is possible.
The article doesn’t actually say just when the silver version of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 will become available, but the guys do speculate that with the 4G LTE enabled HTC Droid Bionic expected soon, the silver version of the Droid Incredible 2 will requite an attractive price point to ensure the device can pull in interest.
Personally I do prefer different colour options when it comes to a smartphone, as I find black to be somewhat boring, although my current Samsung Galaxy S is black as there wasn’t another colour available when I upgraded.
No doubt there are many that feel black is the best for devices, but having the option to pick and choose the colour of your device has always got to be a good thing, as many do prefer a device of a different colour.
So we’d like to ask our readership if they prefer their devices in black or if they prefer having the choice of another colour when purchasing a new device, so feel free to let us know your preference by posting to our comments area below.
