The Nokia N9 is now showing up for pre-order on Expansys, as well as new information just in reporting that this smartphone will release in South Africa in a few months time.

Earlier on today we already reported that via the Orange website the Nokia N9 will release September 15, which we put on the stupidity train seeing as the iPhone 5 is releasing the same month, please read more about the N9 release date here, it is hard to believe if all true that these two smartphones are releasing the same month.

The latest news as said shows the Nokia N9 on Expansys UK, where you can now pre-order the MeeGo smartphone, it does not say when the mobile phone will be available though, even the price is not known at this given time.

Expansys will have the 16GB and a 64GB models available, the Meego 1.2 Harmattan OS handset seems to be very popular indeed, and we know that because we have received so many emails over the last month or so asking how much is it and when will it release.

The Nokia N9 main features include: 1GHz Ti OMAP3630 SoC, 3.9-inch 854×480 pixel AMOLED screen with curved scratch resistant glass, PowerVR SGX530 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera with auto focus featuring wide-angle lens / Carl Zeiss optics and ability to record 720p video content, it also boasts a 1450mAh battery, Wi-Fi, GPS, and support GSM and CDMA bands plus much more.

The N9 will also feature NFC (Near Field Communications), Facebook, foursquare and Twitter, whilst on the subject of the Nokia N9 those in South Africa will be happy to know it is coming to your country.

If you visit the official Nokia South Africa Blog it confirms it will be releasing in SA, the blog does not reveal much other than it is coming to South Africa.

The Nokia N9 is said to be a ground break smartphone and sales will be impressive, the only worry we have for Nokia is the iPhone 5 that is releasing the same month if reports are all correct.
