Use PS3 Sixaxis / DualShock 3 Controller on Android Devices via Apps
If you love playing games using the Sony PS3 Sixaxis DualShock controller, we know that you will really full in love it that you can use it with Android devices. Play games on android devices using the controller is all possible thanks to apps.
A new controller app called Sixaxis Controller by Dancing Pixel Studios, this is all about Droid gaming at it’s best and this app is kind of like a tweak for Android smartphones that allows users to pair DualShock 3 controllers with Droid handsets that support key bindings, an app rooted to smartphones using super-user access.
The Sixaxis Controller Android app main features include: Use for up to four Sixaxis and DualShock 3 controllers supported at once, All 17 buttons on the controller can be mapped to any key press in Android as well as Analog sticks emulated as digital key presses. You must remember that a “ROOT” access is required other things to note includes: Due to the way pairing is done with the controllers; you need to manually pair your controller with the PC utility ‘SixaxisPairTool’ (available on the website) and a mini-USB cable.
This app allows users to get the best gaming experience using a real controller, key mappings are completely configurable, which is fantastic. Please remember that this does not work with all rooted Android devices, allows an application to view configuration of the local Bluetooth device, and to make and accept connections with paired devices.
The PS3 Sixaxis Controller app uses a special Bluetooth protocol, which isn’t available on most droids from HTC or some of the latest Samsung phones, but there is a way around this in the form of a custom ROM like CyanogenMod, get installing if you need to.
DO NOT WORRY: There is no need to start worrying, you can check if your phone supports the Sixaxis Controller, please visit the Android Market and install the “Sixaxis Compatibility Checker” app, if you try and install this application and you get an ERROR then you know your device is not compatible and does not support the Bluetooth protocol.
It is as easy as this: Download and install the Sixaxis Controller App, if your Android device is compatible then download the Sixaxis Pairing Tool for Windows, once this is done just connect your DualShock 3 controller via USB to your PC (cable is included with every PS3) and the text in Step 2 will change to a sort of code in the format xx: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx. This is the Bluetooth address with which the DualShock 3 controller is currently paired with.
Then find your Bluetooth address of your phone, you will find this in your Sixaxis Controller app, go to the bottom and you will see the Local Bluetooth Address, this is when you need to enter the address into the Pairing Tool and then click update. Now disconnect the DualShock 3 controller from your PC and press the PS/Home button it, now you are paired.
If you have tried any of the above please do let us know what you think about it, your reviews and opinions mean a lot to us. Below this news article you can watch a YouTube video courtesy of earlcleveland of it all in action.

I tried pairing it with my asus transformer and it will say client connected but all of the lights are still flashing on the ps3 controller? I dont know what to do I have done everything step by step it’s really simple but for some reason it’s not working.
I’m having the exact same problem on my Motorola Xoom. It works with motionjoy on my pc, so I know the controller is good. It says client connected but lights keep flashing on the controller so I can’t pair. This is frustrating.
