If you are pondering on whether to pick up the newest BlackBerry smartphone to hit the Big Red network, the BlackBerry Bold 9930, but are not too sure if the handset is the one for you, perhaps a video unboxing of the handset might help you make up your mind, so that’s what we have for your viewing pleasure below.
The unboxing of the BlackBerry Bold 9930 for Verizon comes our way courtesy of Aaron Baker over at Phone Dog who got to grips with the newest device from the Research In Motion stable in this almost ten minute video.
The new Big Red BlackBerry Bold 9930 packs a 2.8-inch touch screen, a size that may not be for all, along with a QWERTY keyboard that is apparently 6% larger than on the BlackBerry Bold 9000, sports a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera with 720p video and of course BlackBerry OS 7.
The BlackBerry Bold 9930 commands a price tag of $249.99 with a two-year agreement from Verizon, or $509 off contract so isn’t cheap. And no doubt RIM is hoping the Bold 9930 will be able to drag the ailing company back to their former glory.
However can the BlackBerry Bold 9930 stand up to Verizon’s Android offering and of course the iPhone, or more importantly is the Bold 9930 the device for you or should you opt for something else, or perhaps even hang on for the first QNX BlackBerry is you are a devoted RIM follower, that is of course when RIM gets round to delivering the handset.
Unfortunately RIM simply hasn’t seems to take up the 4G challenge as yet, probably a mistake that will cost them followers, as the BlackBerry Bold is a 3G and not 4G device, and with the many other 4G enabled handsets available it just might be the deal breaker for the Bold 9930; however the handset is a global device so that might be the deal maker for you.
Anyway, I’ll leave it right there and let you head on down to check out the full unboxing of the Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9930, which is of course the thinnest BlackBerry available although does have a rather small battery at 1230mAh.
So check out the footage below and feel free to share your own opinions of this latest BlackBerry device to come and play on Verizon to our comments area below…enjoy.
