If you are one of the Windows Phone faithful you will know that the next OS coming from Microsoft is Windows Phone Mango, and it appears that the first ever Windows Mango phone is to launch today in Japan and if called the Fujitsu IS12T, although it isn’t known whether the first Windows Mango phone will come to other markets.

According to the guys over at Redmond Pie, the Fujitsu IS12T Mango handset appears to be a “bare bone” Windows Phone Mango handset with no modifications to the operating system and according to the guys over at Tech Crunch sports a 3.7-inch touch screen, 13.2 megapixel CMOS camera, WiFi, GSM/CDMA, DNLA, 32GB internal memory and water and shock proof housing.

However although the Fujitsu IS12T claims water and shock proof, Fujitsu does advise the user doesn’t dunk it in water…” IPX5/8 water resistance: Please ensure that the cap and battery covers are firmly closed. Users should refrain from immersion in seawater, pool water, and hot spring water. Users should also refrain from using while bathing in hot springs or water using bath salts, as well as extended use in water.”

According to Fujitsu, when it comes to the IS12T, “the smartphone is equipped with essential features, including fully integrated social media capabilities such as Facebook and Twitter, a video and audio player, and a variety of other entertainment applications.”

As for the price tag and availability of the Fujitsu IS12T, the handset will become available as of today the 25th of August in Japan in three colours, Citrus, Magenta and Black through Japanese carriers KDDI and the Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company although no word on any pricing, but don’t expect it to be a budget class smartphone.
