HP TouchPad Android: Boot CM7 Based on Gingerbread

Those of you that managed to bag yourself a very low priced HP TouchPad in the hope of Android being ported, will be very happy to know that the boot CM7 aka Gingerbread build has found its way onto this tablet.

This news via Rootzwiki and of course a video to prove it (Watch Below) shows the HP TouchPad Tablet PC running Gingerbread 2.3.5 (Based On).

Improvements are still being made by the CM Team, but to see forwarding steps to get a multi-boot functional system running on the tablet is great news to say the least, especially for all those that got one for only $99.

The users can boot CM7, WebOS and or a variety of other OSes concurrently according to Android Police. RootzWiki published a letter on its site; it is a long letter (See in full here) mentioning details such as lvm support have been added, and 2d hardware acceleration should appear very soon. They are focusing on the touchscreen driver issue and they are also showing a lot of attention towards a multiboot solution where the end user will be able to boot into WebOS, Cyanogenmod, and/or other OSes.

The cyanogenmod Team says that this is the Android 2.3.5 gingerbread build. Please do let us know what you think of the above news; all comments are most welcome in the commenting area provided below. Thanks (Please watch the YouTube video below provided by greentheonly
