For those who may not know, the LG Marquee is Sprint’s version of the LG Optimus Black and is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that has recently hit the net waves and is apparently being touted as a “fashionable” smartphone whatever they might mean as most smartphones at “fashionable” when they hit the mobile space.
Anyway, it appears that Sprint has now gone all official with the LG Marquee as according to an article over on AndroidOS, Sprint has now announced the release date and pricing for the LG Marquee, and is as follows…
Apparently for those that might be considering snapping up the LG Marquee from Sprint you will be able to do so as of the 2nd of October, and as for what the Android smartphone will hit your pocket for, it will command a reasonable price tag of $99.99 when signing your life away to the usual two-year term and after a 50 buck mail-in rebate.
If the LG Marquee has caught your attention enough for you to want to own the device, you can slap in your pre-order as of the 20th of this month and those that do pre-order will receive their handset beginning the 29th of September.
According to the release, “The device will be launched in partnership with non-profit design collective MADE, formally known as M.A.C. & Milk, at this year’s MADE FASHION WEEK in New York City. Keeping with the smartphone’s innovative convergence of technology and fashion, LG enlisted Stacy London of TLC’s “What Not To Wear” to act as resident style mentor to five up-and-coming MADE designers as they craft chic carrying cases for LG Marquee.”
So spec wise the LG Marquee offers the user a 4.inch NOVA touch screen, along with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with a 2 megapixel front facing snapper, 1GHz processor, Mobile hotspot functionality for up to 5 WiFi enabled devices, and of course the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
