Android Ice Cream Sandwich Launch Month Confirmed By Notion Ink
Phones Review Quickie: Everyone in the mobile space knows that the Google guys have been working on the next instalment of the Android operating system, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and most rumours have pegged the release of Google’s next OS as sometime in October or November, however it appears that the month the Android faithful can expect Ice Cream sandwich to appear has now been confirmed.
According to the guys over on Slash Gear, Rohan Shravan of Notion Ink, the makers of the Notion Ink Adam tablet, seems to have confirmed that Android Ice Cream Sandwich will see launch in “late October” and will be on their Android tablet in November.
Here’s what Shravan posted…” Official (“update button”) Ice Cream Sandwich update in November after Google’s launch in late Oct.”
This “confirmation” follows on the back of a statement from Eric Schmidt that Android Ice Cream Sandwich would see release in either October or November, although he didn’t give a hard date.
However, Shravan doesn’t say where he got the “late October” confirmation from, so basically he could simply be assuming due to all the recent rumours of a release of Ice Cream Sandwich, but the Slash Gear guys do note that Shravan has been both correct and wrong in the past, so for now this should be taken as a rumour rather than hard and fast confirmation.
So what do our readers think, do you believe will see Android Ice Cream Sandwich in late October or do you feel it will be November before Google gets round to pushing it out? Feel free to voice your opinions to our comments area below.
