Those of you that have been waiting on the HTC Thunderbolt Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update will be very happy to know it is now available.
If you go into your HTC Thunderbolt settings and the Software update and “Check new”, you should see it there. Like Droid-Life has asked, we would love to know also if Google Talk with Video is working, please do use the commenting area below to let us know.
The new Android Gingerbread update on the HTC Thunderbolt includes enhancements and fixes, along with better Bluetooth audio quality, new customizable dock icons, patch for SMS misrouting problems, more reliable Camera app, as well as better data connectivity.
HTC has been promising this Android update for a while now, but finally it is here for all to enjoy, so go pull it Thunderbolters.
Main Enhancements Include: App and Power Management has been enhanced where you will now see a new “Running” tab that displays a list of active applications and the storage and memory being used by each. Power efficiency mode option has also been added under Settings > Power, New widgets, icons and screens with refreshed colours, New App to manage all of your downloads from web browsing, email attachments and other apps, plus App Launcher and Contacts icons are replaced within a customizable dock. Three swappable icons and the App Launcher icon are fixed to the Dock at the bottom of all home screen panels for easy and instant access.
Device Features Include: Decreased wait time when saving audio attachments, Alarm notifications will no longer appear while in Emergency Mode, New Google Books app, Improved data connectivity, Reduced Force Close errors while using TuneWiki, V CAST Tones now comes preloaded, plus Improved audio quality while using Bluetooth, SMS messages send to correct recipient, Enhanced UI for data roaming, Audio on BT Car Kit no longer reroutes to phone when receiving a SMS message, and Reduced Force Close errors when using the front camera.
