Well now it appears that old Samsung at least wants to put an end to battling Apple over the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia, and the latest word in this continuing fight is that Samsung has come up with some kind of proposal to offer Apple in a bid to end the fight.
According to an article over on Slash Gear by way of Bloomberg, said details of this mystery proposal haven’t been made available but Steven Burley, Apple’s lawyer has informed the Australian court, Apple would “need to consider it.”
As you are aware, Apple is currently attempting to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned not only in Australia but other countries as well; and Samsung has at this moment put the release of the Android Honeycomb slate on hold until the judge comes to a decision on whether Apple will be granted a preliminary injunction next week.
Word is as Monday is a public holiday in New South Wales; both sides will conclude their arguments in this case on Tuesday October the 4th, which also just happens to be the day Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 5.
However Justice Bennett has said, “I can’t promise when I’ll make a decision, I will try to get it out as soon as possible.”
Of course the big question surrounding this now is just what deal has Samsung placed on the tablet that might get Apple to back off over the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1?
No doubt that will remain a secret until it has been fleshed out between Sammy and Apple and we’ll probably find out sometime next week as to which way this will go.
