We have all been waiting anxiously for the confirmed official iOS 5 and iCloud release date, and now the wait is over. iOS 5 has been in many beta stages over the last four months and now at last we will get its public presence in just over a week.
It is a little strange how the new iOS 5 and Apple iCloud is releasing around the same time as the Samsung event (October 10 — 12) hopefully announcing the Nexus Prime and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Anyway, Apple’s Scott Forstall’s was chatting away at the “Let’s Talk iPhone” event and said Apple products will release October 12th, the new iOS 5 will have way over 200 plus feature, but we knew that already.
Other features include: Newsstand, Find My Friends, AirPlay mirroring for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, split keyboards, WiFi sync, iMessage and Notification Center, plus much more.
The iOS 5 software will be free as usual, the iCloud service comes with 5GB of email / storage as standard. We will know a lot more soon so please stick with Phones review.
Got some very interesting information covering all the above features in detail, really loving the AirPlay mirroring, very excited.
