The other day old Samsung got another feather to stick in their cap by managing to grab top honours at the 2011 4G World with Sammy scooping three awards all for their Galaxy S Ii smartphones with first place going to the Samsung Galaxy S II, Epic 4G Touch in 4G World’s Best New Mobile category.
According to the guys over at Softpedia, not only did the Epic 4G Touch grab the top slot but also the received an award for the T-Mobile Galaxy S II and the AT&T Galaxy S II.
The president of Samsung Mobile, Dale Sohn says, “We are honored and humbled to have all three of our Galaxy S II devices receive such high acclaim from 4G World, the largest global 4G Expo. Being recognized by 4G World continues to build on the worldwide success of the Galaxy S II portfolio.”
Not that surprising that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread handsets have garnered award as best new mobile device considering how well the Galaxy S II range has been doing for old Sammy, and the fact that Samsung recently overtook Apple as the number one smartphone seller.
With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S II in the USA sales of the smartphone have been a success increasing the global popularity of the handset, and Samsung has already announced they have reached the 30 million global sales milestone.
As you are probably aware all three of the Samsung Galaxy S II handsets with the US carriers are enabled with 4G support unlike the latest iOS smartphone the iPhone 4S.
No doubt Apple will still continue to hound Samsung and attempt to get Samsung gear such as the Galaxy S II banned in countries, but it just goes to show that people in the mobile space like the Android handset whether Apple likes it or not.
